Just Scored Stones Tix! Never Say Never!
If some cosmic force would have tapped my teenaged shoulder back in 1965 when I attended my first Rolling Stones concert in San Diego and said, “Kid, you’re going to see Mick and the boys strut their stuff again in the year 2019,” it would have been total fantasy, a dream.
But dreams sometimes come true. Susan and I just scored tickets to the Stones show in Phoenix in May. It’ll be the fourth time we’ve seen the bad boys of rock n’ roll, and quite possibly the last. But then again, never say never; when we saw them at the Rose Bowl in ’94 and Dodger Stadium in ‘97, we said the same thing. Mick is a great grandfather now and most amazingly, Keefer is still alive.
Tickets in 1965 by the way, cost $5.50. I could have bought a house then for the price we just paid for the 2019 show. Gimme Shelter!
