The Wonderfulness of Four Peaks Rotary
In a meeting that has been planned for nearly a year, the CEO of Warriors Heart was the guest speaker yesterday at the Four Peaks Rotary Club, of which I'm a member. The fact that Josh Lannon is my stepson has very little to do with how much I admire Warriors Heart.
Uh...OK, that's fake news.
Of course the fact that Josh and his wife Lisa are co-founders of the organization matters deeply to me. Susan and I are very proud of what they've achieved and what they will continue to achieve.
Josh and Lisa wowed the Rotary audience with their story of survival and accomplishment. But it was the Rotarians themselves that truly came through like the heroes they often are. The numbers are not all in yet, but Josh and Lisa's talk at the Four Peaks Rotary meeting has generated significant donations to the Warriors Heart Foundation.
This is what makes Rotary so wonderful.
In my two years as a member, I have been in awe of what our little club does to create a better environment for all. The generosity and energy of Club members -- both in volunteer activities and fundraising for deserving causes -- is enormous.
I don't want to name names for fear of embarrassment or leaving someone out who is deserving of praise, but there are the Lady Sue's of the world that make Rotary spin, as well as the Pete Donzelli's, and the Bill Beamish's.The list is long and incredibly impressive.
So as Josh and Lisa continue to spread the good work that Warriors Heart does, it's the Rotary Clubs around the world that continue to support such efforts.
Thank you, Four Peaks Rotary.
